Community Lifeline Center/Samaritan Inn
Community Lifeline Center - Diane Newhouse
We have joined forces with the Community Lifeline Center to provide food to those in need. Our members volunteer at the Community Lifeline Center to distribute food and other supplies to the families using the programs offered by the center. Over 21,000 individuals were served by CLC in 2015 and we provide part of the food that is distributed.
During special times of the year, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, we provide families the ingredients for a traditional holiday meal. More important than the giving of food or other items, we communicate to all the families that are being helped three important things: first, we communicate that we are alive in Christ and we are purposely living out our faith in Him by continuing His ministry to those who need assistance, second, we communicate that we love them, and third, we want to help them both physically and spiritually. Our teams of volunteers are always available to spend time in prayer, counsel, and Bible study. If you are looking for a way to share your love for Jesus and others this is an excellent ministry that will help you live out your faith and help you grow to be alive in Christ.

We ask that your family bring canned items to the church building every week and place in the basket in the west
hallway. Our goal is 100 cans a month. If your small group or ministry team is looking for a group service project, you may consider adopting your own shelf. The shelves are labeled and we saw where a grandfather adopted a shelf for his grandchildren.
Another need is for HP volunteers. Community Lifeline distributes groceries on Tuesday and Thursday. Our High Pointe volunteers work on Thursday afternoons. We would like to have more volunteers to open other mornings or afternoons. You may volunteer for one to two hours weekly, bi-weekly or once a month. If interested, please contact either Diane Newhouse at 214-675-5069.
Samaritan Inn
Serving meals at the Samaritan Inn is such a blessing. The residents are so gracious and appreciative of all who serve. High Pointe provides the funds for the meal the first Wednesday of every month. The chef will have the food all prepared and give you instructions about serving. Three to four people can handle the job and up to six may be there including older children. You are usually done before 7:30 pm.
There are other ways to provide support and volunteer to help with homelessness in Collin County.
