Christmas Mugs and Muffins

Come join us on Saturday, December 7 from 9:00 to 11:00 am in the Chapel for a festive time of food, fun, and fellowship. Bring your mugs for coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Muffins and fruit will be provided. We will also be decorating Christmas cookies! There is no need to register, just come join us!

For the past two years, Heartfelt has impacted and shaped our Women’s Ministry here at High Pointe. We have loved the connection that this ministry has given to all involved. With that being said, we feel that we have grown out of the structure of Heartfelt and moving forward with a program that is made for us and by us, Soul Sisters. 

 

Soul Sisters will have squads of five to eight women who are doing life together. These squads are meeting at least once a month, more times are encouraged, over activities that are in our ever-changing lives. Whether your squad meets over dinner a leader’s house, at your favorite coffee shop on a Saturday morning for conversation, in the neighborhood park to let your kids play on the playground during fellowship, in rotating houses for bible study, or at a dance recital to show support for a squad member or their child, your squad is there for you in everything. 

 

With this new structure, we are altering the timeline for registration. We will be launching registration for both leaders and squad members on October 13. All we are asking from leaders are to be  creating a welcoming environment for their squad. This will look different for every group, so we ask that you be in prayer about the opportunity to be a leader and how that might look for you. There will be two leaders per group and a few leader trainings throughout the year, the first on November 17. 

 

Soul Sisters will officially launch for the first meetings in January.

Soul Sisters FAQs

  • What is Soul Sisters?
    • Soul Sisters is the name of our program for women’s life groups. These are small groups (or squads) that meet together outside of scheduled worship times to connect and develop meaningful relationships. 
  • What do the squads look like?
    • Each squad will have 5-8 women. We will have 1-2 leaders per squad. They will be intergenerational. Single ladies, young moms, empty nesters… all are welcome to join a sister squad! 
  • When and where will the squads meet?
    • Each squad will determine their own meetings. Meetings will be a minimum of once a month, but more is encouraged. Meetings may be dinner at a leader’s home, brunch on a Saturday morning, meeting at a coffee shop, or at the park to let children play. Meetings are encouraged to be kid-free, but we hope that over time, the ladies in your squad become your close friends, so any and all activities are welcome. The goal is to do life together. 
  • What takes place at the meetings?
    • This will also vary as each squad will determine what they would like to do. It may also vary per meeting. Some may want to do a Bible Study, some may want to go out for a painting night or other fun activity. Others may want to focus on sharing and relationship building. 
  • How are the squads formed? Can I choose who’s in my squad?
    • The Soul Sisters Committee puts the squads together. This process is covered in prayer and is guided by the Holy Spirit. Things taken into consideration when putting squads together are: 
        • ladies life experiences
        • location (where ladies live)
        • current circle of friends (we want to build connections throughout the church and not form cliques)
    • There will be a spot on the registration form to make requests of other ladies to be in your squad and we will do our best to honor these requests.
  • I am thinking about being a Squad Leader- what will be my responsibilities?
    • The Squad Leaders’ responsibilities include:
        • Initiating scheduled meetings
        • Checking in with squad members throughout the week- we encourage group texts or emails to share life events and prayer requests
        • Creating a welcoming environment at meetings to help ladies connect with each other
        • Hosting the group in your home is encouraged, but not required.
  • When will Soul Sisters start?
    • Registration for leaders and members will begin October 13th and meetings will kick off in January 2020.
  • How long will the squads stay together?
    • We ask that when you sign up to join a Sister Squad, you commit to that group for a year. At that time, if you would like to “shuffle,” you may re-register to be placed with a new squad. This is optional and you may choose to keep meeting with your current squad if you wish.  Registration will be open year-round.
  • How do I register?
    • Registration will be online. Be looking for more information coming soon!

Ladies Classes

Tuesday Morning Class

We have an exciting new study and fellowship starting on September 10th. Join us Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am for fellowship followed by the study from 10:30 -11:30 am, and an optional lunch out to follow. We will be studying Cassandra Martin's book on the Journeys of Paul. If you are interesting in joining this study, contact Nanette Goff at

Wednesday Night Classes 

Join our Wednesday night class as we look at all phases of life and we can rely on God and each other during these phases. We hope to integrate females in every stage of life and learn from each other. There will be volunteers to form a panel each week and answer questions about the phase of life they are in. The purpose is  to get to know each other on a deeper level. There will also be breakout groups. Here is a tentative schedule.

November 6 - No classes

November 13 - 70's Panel

November 20 - 50's Panel

November 27 - No Class due to Thanksgiving

December 4 - Breakout Groups/Discussion & Cooking for shut-ins
